Eternal Life Today | John 3:1-21 Discussion

Eternal Life Today | John 3:1-21

You will learn how Nicodemus discovers that salvation cannot be achieved through morality, religion, or good works. Jesus makes it clear: God must make you new. Salvation does not come through good works or self-improvement. It requires transformation.

Paul knows the Philippians well enough to know the motivation behind their gift. Their hearts are Christ-focused. They want to please God. They have joy in giving sacrificially from what they have, in order to give to the Lord. They view their own gift as an act of worship to the Lord.

This episode is an exposition of Philippians 4:16–17, “Generosity Bears Spiritual Fruit,” from our Senior Executive Pastor, Dr. Ben Lovvorn. Paul is not using these verses as a strategy or gimmick to get the Philippians to increase their financial gifts. Instead, Paul has a genuine desire for the spiritual good of others. That same motivation drives us here at First Baptist Dallas. Giving is ultimately not about anything we want from you. True generosity leads to spiritual fruit now and in eternity—which is what we want for you!

Welcome to our December discipleship series—Light of the World. This episode is an exposition of Philippians 4:10-15, “Generosity is a Gospel Partnership,” from our Senior Executive Pastor, Dr. Ben Lovvorn. In this passage, Paul says that financial giving creates a “partnership” in the gospel. Why is that? And what does that mean? When the gospel takes root in our hearts, generosity flows out. We get to play a part in what God is doing, as He draws people to Himself and transforms their lives for eternity.
