Mission 1:8 with First Dallas
Based on Jesus’s final charge to His disciples in Acts 1:8, Mission 1:8 with First Dallas seeks to transform the world with God’s Word one life at a time. We will produce resources that help you to abide in the Lord each day and more fully conform your life to reflect Jesus Christ in all things. We’ll also talk about the strategy and vision of our church, so you can put this into practice as you serve and lead here. We hope each episode will encourage you with biblical truth and equip you to live a bold, gospel-centered life!

Welcome to Week 2 of Spring Training: Behold & Be Changed. In this episode, we’re reminded that we rely on light to see. Without light, we are blind—but when light appears, it draws our eyes and makes everything else visible. Together, we’ll read John 9 and behold Jesus as the true Light, the One who opens blind eyes and enables us to see clearly.

This episode is a recent sermon by Dr. Ben Lovvorn on John 3:1-21, preached at First Baptist Dallas on the first Sunday of 2026. You will learn how Nicodemus discovers that salvation cannot be achieved through morality, religion, or good works. Jesus makes it clear: God must make you new. Salvation does not come through good works or self-improvement. It requires transformation.
