Mission 1:8 with First Dallas

Based on Jesus’s final charge to His disciples in Acts 1:8, Mission 1:8 with First Dallas seeks to transform the world with God’s Word one life at a time. We will produce resources that help you to abide in the Lord each day and more fully conform your life to reflect Jesus Christ in all things. We’ll also talk about the strategy and vision of our church, so you can put this into practice as you serve and lead here. Go! Make Disciples | Acts 8

Monday Sep 08, 2025

Monday Sep 08, 2025

In this episode, Senior Executive Pastor Dr. Ben Lovvorn continues our Go! Make Disciples series with a lesson from Acts 8. This chapter focuses on a character we don’t often hear about—Philip. He was obedient to the Holy Spirit’s prompting and eager to take every opportunity to share the gospel, even with those who were outcasts or who seemed unapproachable. Philip truly took advantage of every opportunity to live out the Great Commission!

Friday Aug 08, 2025

This summer, we’ve been challenged from God’s Word to Be Prepared for Christ’s return. Prayer is essential for preparation. So each month this summer, we’re working through a biblical prayer from the Psalms that can serve as a guide for us. As the Lord prepares our hearts, our minds, and our hands—we’ll be ready to pursue His mission and bear great fruit for His kingdom.
In this episode, Dr. Ben Lovvorn walks through Psalm 108 and shows how it can be a model prayer for us. Then Ben, Nate, and Andrew discuss how to pursue God’s mission while relying on His strength, rather than our own.
